today i met my friend from starbucks, actually i didn't see her for one and half year, but she didn't change at all! we decided to meet in front of ALTA building, which is one of the most popular meeting place in tokyo, and when i saw her, i was like "wow! hey! naocha~~n! genki datta?(means how have you been? in english) and she was like "e--, futu-.(not good, not badm in english?) shes always like this. so it means shes doing really good.
anyway, we went to comme ca cafe and had really good lunch and cakes. this cafe used to be really japanesy before i went to america which is one and half years before, like they used to have many kind of onigiri thing, but now they seemed like they changed their concept to be more like cake restaurant? anyway it was still not really crowded even it is in shinjuku, tokyo, so it was cool....
she has been in holand for the last 6 months. so we talked about ryugaku(studying abroad) thing, she said she is really tired to live in tokyo. she likes here, but she likes holand much more! she said she was speaking in english not datch in holand. she went to like UCLA in holand and she said half of their classes are done in english. i think its really good for international students, but its also really sad. that university is the top univ. in holand and holand people gave up to learn in their own language? thats sad and horrible...what is globalization?
and its so amazing, she said they have super cheap airplain company there, and she went to london from portland(the capital city in holand?) for 2 cents!!! i was like "what? how do they make money from that?" and she said anyway she had to pay the tax to use the airport( i don't know whats called in english) so she paid like 37 euro. she seemed kinda angry about that, but i think its still super cheap. shes really funny.
and i accidentaly found $1000 in my bank account yesterday, i think thats because i haven't checked my account for almost two years, and this money is from starbucks where i used to work before... its like a gift from god, and i got this really cool camera today! !!! its called GR-10, made by RICOH, i love this camera and i went to tokyo tocho's observatory( metropolitan government office?) by myself. there were so many foreigners. i'm kinda surprised how many foreigners are here in tokyo right now... it used to be not like this? or i wasn't really paying attention before going to america? anyway, there were so many foreiners(like korean, chinese and european and of course american people)... and i took a tokyo tower picture for my friend. i called him the other day telling him i was going to tokyo tower, and he asked me to take some picutures by my cell phone, but we (me and my friend) noticed it was too late and canceled... so i took a picture of tokyo tower, and i think i'll present it to him.
anyway its too long, i should go now.
