Hasta luego, los angeles

i am already going back to tokyo today. its 3 in the morning, and i'm leaving here 3 and half hours later!! i've already started missing LA already, i mean i love japan, but i love here too.

8th, tuesday--
tuesday i had a big presentation in my spanish class. it was a teaching project, and we had to review for the final each other. one by one, in front of classmates!! since i was just being really lazy last weekend, i couldn't finish to prepare for that, and on the day of my presentation, i had to prepare for that in the cafeteria after the morning class... but the cool thing was there are so many spanish speakers in my college, i could just ask anybody about the grammar and stuff, i just needed to be not shy and ask "excuse me, do you speak spanish?" that's it!

9th, wednesday--
on the next day i went to have some coffee with rolando. since we are both talkative, we were talking talking forever, it was really fun. we talked in english and japanese and un poco espanol! then i went back to school and studied for final with diego, meg, and michael. we rented this really cool group study room for 2 hours. meg got these 600 flash cards piled up, she said its the only way to remember words. you can imagine how hard this packed, condenced, 6-week session language class. so crazy.

10th, thursday--
then next day, after 2 final exams, i went to this really cool mexican restaurant in burbank i think... i'm still not sure where it was, since i wasn't driving and it was like the other side of hollywood hills.... on the hill, i saw one house totally broke down because of the storm at the beginning of january... scary.
on the way to the place, my friend taline was driving and she was playing muse's newest album. it was really good. i went to tower records with ayako and bought that cd already.
anyway the food was really good, people were all really happy. on the way back diego was saying "i'm so happy to have friends like this." all the time. that was so funny.

after coming back home, me, minako and ken went to his house in montrey park, then i met his roommate there. actually i have almost no african-american friend here, the reason is everybody looks like wass-up kind of people, i mean, i don't know, i'm just scared of them i think!!! anyway, but ken's roommate was so nice, i was seriously really surprised..
then we went to this chinese restaurant near his house to have dinner. i'm sure it was a chinese restaurant, but most of the dish came with french fry and corn. weird.... with bbq sauce....
then because it was raining, we took local to came back to minako's place, and he started playing japanese pop songs... then he asked me "who's singing this song?" then i go like "ahm,, i think hitotoyou?" then they started laughing so loud, i asked them why and they told me one day minako asked the same question to him and he said "HITOTOYOU" and minako was like "HITO to DARE? means person(HITO) with (to) who?(DARE)" then ken was like "e, dakara hitotoyou." minako:"ha? dakara hito to daretteba?" ken:"DAKARA HITOTO YOUDAYO!!" so funny. ken also told me he thought BoA (popular korean teen-age singer in japan) was BAO. what kind of elephant is that? so funny.

then yesterday, i went to korea town with my ex-roommate minji and our friend seiko. we ate this really really yummy kroean BBQ! i love korean bbq~ minji is also going back to korea next week, after 6 years study in america and canada. she used to go to high school in canada and america and went to college in LA with me. so even though she is not really emotional-kind-of person, i could tell she was kinda feeling different. after the bbq we went to this cool cafe near there, it was really relaxing...
before going to korea town, leti came over to my place to say good bye with her mom. i tried to say something, but i forgot. at that time also i was trying to say something cool in spanish to surprise her mom but i couldn't.... woo!!

today, i woke up really late and had some coffee with ayako at an organic cafe. the weather was just so perfect, it was all good. also at the other side of the window, there was a japanese guy sitting down reading "franny and zooey" by salinger. mmm. good. after we went to 3rd street promnade and we bought jumba juice finally!!! i love jumba juice! then came back to minako's place and had miso soup with udon. we talked so much, i laughed so much... and when ayako was going home i went downstairs with her and met gen. we talked like until 2am... he said he goes to school almost every day to shoot some movie or something. coooool!

finally i realized why people like LA so much. i think i do too. i wish if there is some place like tokyo and LA at the same time!!!

i will be back!
