hola de St. Kitts!

right now i am at the island in caribbean sea, called St. Kitts. i'm visiting here with my friend. this island used to be colonized by england, so people speak english, not spanish or any other local languages. which is great, but their english is so broken, so its really hard for me to understand.... my friend is japanese, but super fluent in english, so usually she does everything...

at the airport, the first day, we were waiting for our baggage to pick out. mine has come a bit later, but my friend's one didn't come even though we were waiting like 20-30 minutes... she was getting really mad until that time, there were couple of people who also couldn't find their lagguage, we were really worried, then suddenly this guy came up to us saying "this is all we have, all baggages are cleared, if you don't see yours, please go to the counter to talk to them." my friend was like "what!?!?! the hell!!!???" then went to counter, waited another 10 minutes, finally a women came out from the back office and said, "i checked the baggage again, and found another countainer. please go back to the pick-up place." so we went back, waited another 20 minutes, then finally the baggages were conveyed.... my friend was like "i hate people in here already."

people on this island are many kind. the local local people are african-american people, but there are lots of immigrants like asian, european, any types. for example at this hotel, there are some asians working at the restaurants as waiter/waitress, also, people at the big companies outside this hotel are actually mostly caucasian. like american or europeans. we think, people who are actually earning a lot of money on this island are immigrants, who had a lot of money already, and there are also another kind of immigrants who couldn't enter the US for some reason and came down to this island.... like the therapist, who gave us massage the other day was from ukrine. she said her son is in NY and other family is in ukrine still, and she is earning some money in st. kitts... like this. really complicated.

this country is pretty clean, compared to other countries my friend says, for the economical situation in this island... seeing the local houses and everything, i assume people aren't rich here, like there are lots of houses without roofs... someone told me that's because of the harricane from 3 years ago, 75% of this island's houses got damaged, but still lots of houses are unfixed yet... so from that, i guess this country is not developed yet, but a bottle of water here costs $1US, because everything has to be imported other countries. so, price here is pretty much like the US, but the living standard here seems like not that high. there was a house without a roof with "on sale" sign... it cannot happen other than here!!!

i have to go now!!!
